Details:

(I) Cultivating Qi and Internal Balance in Your Body

We’ll start with fundamental standing exercises known as Zhan Zhuang, teaching Shen Fa—essential body posture forming the foundation of balance. These movements enhance body awareness, improve weight distribution, and engage all major joints. As you practice, your leg strength and mental concentration will grow, allowing for optimal limb coordination. You’ll also begin to sense the emergence of Qi energy.

(II) Developing Silk Reeling Energy and Footwork Techniques

Building on Zhan Zhuang, we’ll progress to Chan Si Gong—repeated single movements cultivating silk reeling energy and alignment. Bu Fa stepping techniques will be introduced, enhancing leg power and footwork strategies. Graduated patterns systematically strengthen the required muscle groups, enabling natural power generation from your body frame and abdomen.

(III) Applying Qi and Silk Reeling Energy in Form

This phase, guided by Grandmaster Zhu, features the 5 Elements routine, encompassing fundamental techniques such as peng, lu, ji, an, cai, lie, zhou, kao, zhuo gu, you pan, qian jin, hou tui, and zhong ding. Learn to infuse each movement with relaxation and Qi through controlled breathing. Observe the unique Chen-style Silk Reeling technique integrated into each posture. Explore the interplay of internal and external forces, fast and slow movements, and the significance of maintaining a continuous body line—a reflection of Tai Chi’s Yin-Yang principles.
