The aim of the level is to introduce the student to the theory and principles  of Tai Chi through a set of foundation breathing exercise and outines.

Chen Style Tai Chi Sword Routine Name

剑,在古代被称为兵中之“帅”,即不是普通的常用兵器,通常是王侯将相的权利象征或文人雅客随身佩带防身之用,所以构造较为轻便,利于随身携带。因其结构的单薄,故不可用于大劈大砍和格挡重兵器,所以它的演练风格就形成了撩刺抹挂、云点削转、轻灵飘逸的风格。故有“剑似游龙巧中藏,避实就虚展锋芒”剑法描述!

Sword, in ancient times was known as the Chief of all Weapons, that is not a common weapon used. Normally carried by as the right symbol of kings or scholars as a form of status with self-defense purpose, so the structure is more lightweight, for ease of carrying around. Due to the thin body, it cannot be used parry big heavy weapons (as oppose to sabre or dao)   , but rather fully utilise the blade and the tip. So a lot of slicing and thrusting.
